For CD Mastering, Go to the Masters

If a recording artist or inspiring musician has any hopes of having their songs played on the radio, they'll need to have their rough mix mastered very well. The best way to do this, is to hire a CD mastering engineer.

Professional mastering engineers can make a decent audio mix sound great and a good mix sound completely amazing. There are many different things that CD mastering engineers can do. They will work with the artist to decide what order the songs appear on the CD, and also equalize the volume of the different instruments in each song and across the entire CD.

They can also help to add more definition and clarity to the instruments in a song. Then, they will adjust the introductions and ends of the songs, choosing the length of time between the songs and adding crossfades or other nice effects if they need to.

The order in which the songs on a CD appear can greatly affect the way the CD progresses when it's played. If similar sounding songs are placed side by side on a CD, it can lead listeners into thinking the artist has a very limited range. It's ultimately up to the CD mastering engineer to work with the recording artist and choose the order of songs on the CD.

It's very important that the instruments in a song and the songs on the CD be at an appropriate volume level. Within a song, the different elements must be mixed appropriately in order for the song to sound like it should.

The CD engineer can also give clarity and definition to the different instruments in a song. The engineer will also have the task of assuring that the volume levels across all of the songs are the same, in order to help the CD sound more cohesive while still leaving room for dynamics.

The CD mastering engineer will also determine how much time there should be between the songs on the CD. They will also fade and crossfasde the intros and endings of the songs to make them have a better flow.

For an interesting career, CD mastering engineers is a great choice. They make excellent money, get to work with top artists, and enjoy what they do. If you like music, this career may be what you've always wanted. For those who are already in the profession - it's a job unlike any other out there in the world.

What can I take in college to become a videogame artist?
I live in Texas, specifically around the Houston area and I wanted to know what College classes or majors/minors I can use to become a videogame artist. I would like to use my drawing skills and further my knowledge in programs like photoshop to be able to create images for videogame designers. I'm currently a senior in high school and I would like some information on this topic. Your answers are very much appreciated. If not videogame artist, an alternative would be just to be able to use photoshop and other computer programs and use my drawing skills.

I don't know whats wrong with me?
Please stop saying people go see a therapist i can't afford one and my parents will reem me for it because there broke too and they won't believe how i feel. They never 100% listen to me when i sit them down to talk about depression. Basically i always feel like the slightest thing makes me not even want to operate. I see the big picture of life and i see the tiny steps to get there and its too frustrating because at any point i can slip. I always practice drawing every day and take classes at college but suck at it. Teachers say your not putting enough effort in your work, even though i go home the day its assigned and work on it 24 hours straight. I'm not even a hundred percent what i want to do these days career wise because i have so many things i am interested in career wise. Ranging from wrestling, graphic designer(which is something I'm good at but people are never grateful when you make them stuff), photographer, videogame journalist(but i hate citing stuff, i ask for help and never get it), videogame artist, guitarist, musician, youtuber, video editor, voice actorI have tons of ideas for careers but i already know the ones that are easier to achieve. I know i have to take risk to be happy, but i also know that I barely have enough for college as it is, so i can't make a mistake. But i also know that the jobs such as graphic designer i can do now if i wanted to but in the end i feel like i wouldn't be necessarily happy. Don't get me wrong i like doing that in my free time but then when i get out in the real world for that job i'll be sitting in a stupid stuffy office where i will get headaches everyday like i do now. I also know careers like wrestling is too much of a risk and i would be shunned upon. You guys will probably laugh down below but whatever its just something i'm interested in. Your always traveling and competing physically. I already know all the downsides of wrestling and i can list them for you, but i won't to save time. I also don't feel comfortable with myself. I go out in the real world and say hi to people just to be snubbed. Go to school clubs, sports, etc. just to feel like a phony. I don't feel real when i'm there. You try to speak to people but they just snub you. I know i may be exagerating but it is TRUE. That is probably why i don't have any friends. I try to be positive but i'm so confused with my life Then I'm confused about girls, used to try to talk to them but i got snubbed every time. I tried changing my appearance and dressed nicer in a school setting (not that i didn't before i just dress like a million dollars). I don't know what to do anymore. I'm slowly starting to become more of a hermit and now everywhere i go in my public i imagine what people are saying about me. I feel super awkward, headaches ensue and i feel out of place in any environment. I can't stop thinking what there saying about me, even though i already know that it doesn't matter what they think. I know i'm coming off desperate but thats because I ABSOLUTELY AM. What am i supposed to do. Even in my dorm I'm scared to even watch animes or watch wrestling in my room in fear that my jockie roomates will hear it and make fun of me. I feel like giving up. For three years i've tried to get rid of this problem but nothing is happening. I try something different and nothing happens. I feel helpless and i feel like I'm at my breaking point. I've even tried to listen to music that talk about "don't care what others think", it helps for a second then a minute later I'm back to my old self
