I'm shy around girls and guys (I'm a girl), in high school, help?
In short: I'm shy and can only talk to people I'm fairly close with, this can make for a really boring and awkward class when I'm not sitting beside my friends, any tips on how to deal with this would help me! Read on for the details.
I'm very shy around people I'm not close with, I have plenty of friends as once people get to know me I'm pretty fun, but until that point- which takes a long time- I have trouble saying even the smallest sentence to someone. I can't really talk to girls as they are often judgmental and I don't really keep up on celebrities and clothes; I'm a video game girl and a huge nerd (star trek all the way) so I don't really know what to say to girls when I'm sitting beside them. Then it makes for an awkward class and mostly seating arrangements don't change so I'm a bit stuck there.
Then there are guys, who I can't say a word to without turning bright red (unless they are gay, I don't like them (very few guys), or I have no interest in them- I have already tried pretending that I didn't like them but it still didn't work because I want to make a good impression). If I even want to be only friends with a guy I cant even answer what the homework was without blushing bright red. Most of the time they don't notice because they aren't really looking but when they do and if they mention it can get so bad my eyes start to water!
And then there is the whole I like him but cant talk to him, which means that any chance of getting dates or preferably a boyfriend anytime soon are less than zero.
