Why are my hobbies so meaningless and pointless?
Growing up, I played a lot of sports. In fact that was almost all I did. Either in the front yard or in my city leagues. I was never good enough or athletic enough to make school teams so my athletic career ended there. When I wasn't playing sports, I was playing video games or watching sports.
Now that I'm out of HS and have been at college, I've realized that these hobbies are worthless. Video games are so pointless and I don't enjoy playing them at all anymore. As much as I still enjoy watching/talking sports, I've grown bored of it. Sports are the only thing that I can carry on a conversation about. I can't hold conversations on other subjects. My sports knowledge does me no good when I try to carry on a conversation with women. They just don't care. And even the ones that say/act like they do, don't enough to talk about it in depth like I do. My interest in sports and video games won't help me find a major and career. Everyone says I should try sports journalism or a TV sportscaster, but Im so Effing shy that I could never put myself on tv or publish my writings. My social anxiety is just too much.
I've tried learning languages, or instruments, and other hobbies, but I quickly lose interest and just don't enjoy doing any of those things. I'm ridiculously unhappy and can't find anything to make me happy. I'm just an embarrassment.

[Teen] I need a hobby for my best friend?
My friend has done nothing in his spare time but play video games. Primary League of Legends. And he obsesses about it. I really want to find him a hobby but it is difficult since he finds everything else lame.

How can i stop the lag on my tv when playing video games?
I recently bought a really nice tv, you can see the details of it here:

The only downside to this tv is trying to play video games on it. The lag is terrible! When playing single player games or sports games it isn't too noticeable. But if I try to play shooters like MW3 or Halo it is very difficult to play because the lag makes it very hard to shoot any one. I went and talked to some of the Best Buy people about it but they kept assuring me that there couldn't be a problem with it, so I've decided to see if anyone can help me on here. I have an Xbox 360 slim and and use 3D HDMI cables, I went with 3D cables since they're starting to have some games in 3D. Any help anyone can give me would be appreciated!!!
